About this site
In July 2011 I logged into mediabistro.com. I was browsing the job listings and came across the Director of e-Commerce position for a major illustrated book publisher in San Francisco. This publisher has been a favorite of mine for many years, long before I was “in the business.” I’d been thinking about moving back to the Bay Area for a while so I decided to apply.
This website is my e-CV. You can go through it any way you’d like, or start at this page and proceed to Brief Bio, Just the Facts Please, then along the rest of the menu bar.
My AH Moment
What I realized from putting this site together is that the end is not always the means. Meaning, no matter what my initial impetus for creating this site, or the outcome of the application, I had a blast designing it. Furthermore, it has inspired me to get going on producing the site I’ve been dreaming about for at least two years.
This site is now in production and will launch May 2012!
- Are you a photographer or visual creative?
- Would you like to create a narrative* of your work, but don’t know where to start?
Then, please, let me hear from you!
Send me your questions and concerns using the CONTACT ME tab at the top menu bar. I will address them and let you know when they are published.
* Narrative refers to a book, blog site, slideshow or any media presentation.
THE NITTY GRITTY about copyright on this site
Nothing on this site is of any commercial value. Meaning, for licensing and copyright inspectors, I am not trying to sell any product. The music used in the videos is credited at the end of each video. Grateful thanks to the artists for making these songs so I could be inspired by them. Maybe someone will purchase a song as a result of hearing it here.
THANKS
While many of the images on this site are mine, several are not. I would like to acknowledge the following photographers, whose photos I pulled from the former Arena Editions’ materials: Peter Lindbergh, Giselle, the shots of Mila Jovovich; Antonin Kratochvil, David Bowie and Jean Reno; Richard Misrach, cloud detail from “Golden Gate”, and Chris Felver, all photos from the cover of “The Importance of Being.”
This site would not exist if it weren’t for the very talented coder and designer, and maker of awesome instruction videos (!) Jason Bobich. Alyeska is a fabulous template. It was a pleasure to use it for my e-CV. You rock, Jason. Thank you.
